The Eclipse IDE Meta-tooling Platform (IMP) is a
project from IBM Research that was formerly known as "SAFARI."
The
goal of the Eclipse IMP is to
provide an extensible platform for the development of
high-quality, fully-featured, language-specific IDE's in Eclipse.
The IMP is being released as an open-source project on SourceForge.net
prior to submission of a proposal to make the Eclipse IMP an Eclipse
Technology
Project.
NOTE:
This web site is generally under construction. We've been in the
process of adapting our original IBM project web site to one that is
suitable for open-source release while at the same time renaming the
project from "SAFARI" to "IMP" (while also renaming "JikesPG" to
"LPG"). We haven't quite finished that,
yet, but we think that most of the information on the site is useful
and usable, so we've released it on SourceForge. We'll be working
to make it more complete and up-to-date. If you notice something
that seems especially out of date (or just plain wrong) plesae let us
know and we'll try to get to that first. Thank you for your
help and patience!
