To intsall LPG for the first time:

  1. From Eclipse, invoke "Help" => "Software " => "Find and Install"

  2. In the dialog that shows up, select "Search for new features to install" and click "Next"

  3. The first page of the "Install" dialog will appaer.  Click on the "New Remote Site" button on the upper right-hand side of the that dialog ...
  4. The "New Update Site" dialog will appear
    1. In the "Name" field type "LPG" (this can be anything you want, it's your name for the update site).
    2. In the "URL" field type "http://lpg.sourceforge.net/updates/" (note the trailing '/' character; it's significant)
    3. Click "OK"

  5. This will return you to the "Install" dialog, where the LPG site will be added to the list of sites available for searching; be sure that the LPG box is checked and click "Finish"
  6. This will bring up the "Updates--Search Results" page; check the "LPG" checkbox, making sure you're getting the latest version, and click "Next"
  7. This will bring up another dialog labeled "Install"; click "I accept the terms..." and click "Next"
  8. This will bring up a page that will indicate the installation location.  By default this will be in an appropriate place in your current workspace, which is probably what you want (but you can adjust the location if you really want to.)  Click "Finish".
  9. The dialog will disappear, and the status bar will show progress as the Update Manager queries the update server for all available updates
  10. When asked whether to restart Eclipse, click "No" if you intend to make further updates at this time or if you don't intend to work with LPG right away; click "Yes" if you're done with updates or you wish to work with LPG directly.  In any case, Eclipse will need to be restated before this update can take effect.
